A little blog about the life of a somewhat lost dreamer....looking for my grace in this crazy world.

06 August 2012

Let's catch up, shall we....

I thought I'd make my appearance in the middle of the week... might be fewer heart attacks that way...

Some of you may have noticed I've been absent a bit so let's catch up...

Let's see...

It's been 119 days...

598.35 miles... (as of today, Tuesday, make that 603.55)

There have been three birthday celebrations...

My Little One has moved out on her own... (to many, many tears I didn't allow her to see)...

My Little One's room has been converted to a tiny studio with lots of light, but as yet, little creativity...

I realized I'd lied to y'all about something... I really didn't think I'd catch on to them, but I've become quite addicted... I've had at least 119 of these green smoothies...

I've seen Roger Water's "The Wall"... (amazing by the way...)

My Big One and my Bonus one came to visit... my Bonus One and I had drinks as we have always done, and I realized that my Little One will be able to join my Bonus One and myself next summer when we share our happy hour...

I've had lunch with my Father 119 times... and pretty much each of those times I've wondered why I didn't get those watery blue eyes if his...

I've baked about a bizillon cupcakes, brownies, cookies and other goodies... to take over on my visits (these were banana muffins with peanut butter swiss meringue and a chocolate drizzle)...

I had a go at making French macaroons... beginners luck maybe... but I've made many batches now and really don't see what all the fuss is about how very difficult they are...

Work has remained pretty much the same... a few people have come, and a few have gone...

I'm still head over heels in love with old book pages and what they can become...

I had lunch with Nadia who writes over at Multicolored Pieces...(she is amazing, and beautiful, and has such a wonderful life story!)

Trader Joe's opened in Lexington...

I've been to our Farmer's Market about two dozen times...

The ex had back surgery, and is recovering quite well...

I've watched 119 sun rises, and 119 sun sets... each more beautiful than the last... have wondered at the beauty of the stars in the sky another thousand or so times... caught fireflies... met a couple of baby snakes in the back yard (I guess that's what I get for letting the momma (or daddy?) out)... have marveled at the night songs of summer...what a symphony the frogs and crickets make... have found 343 shapes in the clouds on a sunny summer afternoon... have seen at least three of my neighbors in their underwear... (you know how funny it is to be walking the dog at an ungodly hour in the morning only to realize that a neighbor has come out of his house to get the paper... in his underwear... and he has not noticed you.  All you can do is say good morning as you pass... and giggle at the sudden realization in his face)... I've thought good thoughts, and a few not so good as well... have been awed at the miracle of what it is to be human...

And finally, FINALLY, ever sooooo slowly... the need to create is creeping back in.  Making its way in tiny steps, but it's coming, and that means I'll have something to write about again.

My first project is a big one... I'm working on a surprise for all of you that follow the blog that I'll be sharing sometime in November... but I promise there will be glimpses between now and then...

I needed a break.  Didn't really realize it, but when life got so very busy this just sort of fell to the wayside.  Life isn't really any less busy, I've just adapted.  Of course, that's a very subjective observation...

And now, I'm back. I've missed you guys...

So, what have y'all been up to?
