Yesterday was one of those sort of Mondays.
Every so often, the stars align, or the powers that be are just in a playful mood and want to see how far they can drive you toward crazy without actually tipping over into it... or, maybe karma just bites you in the ass... whatever it is, when those Mondays happen, they suck.
Really not one thing you can put your finger on, you know? But it all began with a huge bang... then a few thuds, some loud crashes. At 4:00 am. I get up and look through, only to realize it is the neighbor in the other side of the duplex. The one who complains that I vacuum too much. I vacuum once a week. Unless I really don't want to vacuum, then who knows when it will get done? Yup, nothing like a double standard to wake up to. I did get to the office awfully early though...
Then, I get to spend the morning doing those necessary things that must be done every quarter, I get some reports out via email and suddenly get a good 30 of every 100 back. You know, makes me wonder... if everyone knows they have to do this, wouldn't you think they'd want to keep contact information current? I mean... it seems like they would. Alas...
Huge mailing needs to get out today... get that sorted, stuffed, and ready to get out
Printing arrived that I had ordered a month ago. Such a heavy sigh... all the color I worked so hard on, gone. Somehow it got printed in black and white. Disappointing. The color wasn't "necessary", but still... it was ordered. Spend 15 minutes on the phone making sure that the printer understands we won't be paying for color printing if I we don't get it...
After that it was on to dealing with really stupid people who either don't understand that they are stupid, or really don't realize that they are. Not sure which... but I can say they cannot seem to follow clear, simple and concise instructions... and, while that can be horribly frustrating as well, it can lead to more than a few laughs as well.
Nothing in and of itself is all that terrible, but for some reason, on this particular Monday, they just all added up to frustration... the screaming, pulling hair, "why the heck are people so rude/mean/stupid" sort of frustrated.
So, I had a glass of merlot, and a scrumptious piece of dark, wonderful chocolate while I watched the golden autumn sun share it's last warm rays of the day with the earth.
Things could be a whole lot worse...
So, tell me, what do you do when those sort of days hit?

OMGosh! I had that Monday yesterday too! But I attribute it to the fact that I went for an ultra sound and couldn't eat or drink 8 hours prior. No coffee in the AM and I could just NOT get started, motivated or focused all day. No matter how hard I tried, I could not catch up to the coffee I missed.
You know Carol, more than one person I talked to yesterday said it was a "day like that"... One friend said that they had encountered one idiot after another, without even a speed bump between them.
I think it was just one of those sorts... for everyone. Who knows? Change of weather, the stars, karma? All I know is that I am thankful they don't hit all that often!
Days like that definitely call for dark chocolate and maybe a lovely walk in nature to make me forget about my day and move on.
Sounds like you had the Stormy Monday Blues, sorry!! Hopefully it was and will be followed by a spectacular (and creative) rest of the week!!
