A little blog about the life of a somewhat lost dreamer....looking for my grace in this crazy world.

A first disappointment...

Originally I wasn't going to share this, but after some thought, I've decided it is just as important to share the disappointments as well as the successes...

You know, the thing about being a "creative" person among those who think they are not, is that you get lots of kudos... Let's be honest, who doesn't like that? A little ego stroking is always good for the soul, right?

You know the bad thing about being amongst the multitude of brilliantly creative people? Not getting the kudos...

First disappointment of the year... way back in early December, after I posted the calendar give away, I submitted it to Craft Gossip. Not a word (insert a heavy sigh)... oh well, always good to get the first disappointment out of the way...right?

Now, on to all the other possibilities the year holds...

Too bad for them, but don't give up. We all really love your art. My experience is that usually when you get a snub, later on they come looking for YOU!

Everyone has different tastes. I have been an artist for over 40 years. I cannot tell you how many times my work was rejected. Just keep going. For yourself and the rest of us. We love your work.

I think your calendar is excellent! And your generous heart is far better than a failed response!
Hang in there and keep up the wonderful work!

Oh, that is disappointing. So sorry for that. You are right about the ego-stroking. It does a soul good.
Try it again this year, maybe it'll do better.

Well I for one think that your Doodle calendar is terrific. Maybe you should carry your artistic endeavors elsewhere. I was in Barnes & Noble today and could not find a single doodle or zentangle book anywhere in the store except for in the children's section :(( Your work is terrific and needs to be published. Don't give up!

I loved it! I made journals for my granddaughters for Christmas and included your calendar (I hope I remembered to ask your permission). They loved the journals and especially the calendars! They can color them anyway they want. You are so creative!

Just look at it this way, you reached all the ones that needed it, I found you through another blog as I am sure others did. You may not have reached a new audience though Craft Gossip, just us oldies. Thank you so much for your talent and sharing!
