A little blog about the life of a somewhat lost dreamer....looking for my grace in this crazy world.

Ahhh... fall...

Today is an absolutely perfect day... cool temps, that golden sunshine, breezes blowing... I so wish it would last, but I know it won't be here for too long this time of the year. But knowing that doesn't stop me from looking forward to fall... and Halloween (do you see a pattern with me here?)

I went cruising around the blog-o-sphere the other day looking for Halloween ideas to share with everyone, and I stopped in over at Martha Stewart, where I found some cute little pumpkin folks. I made one following their directions. See it over there? Cute... but ya know, somehow, less so than I wanted.

So, what else can I do? I created my own pattern and made a version I like better. They are about the same size, I just used sections to make mine, and I think I like the lack of wrinkles, which is funny, since the wrinkles are one of the things I liked about hers. I sort of dressed the pumpkin up a bit too, after all, what is Halloween without a great costume?

And guess what? I am gonna share how I did it with y'all over the next few posts. But, for today, I am going to share the ArtsyBlogger links.

Noreen is leaving our little blogging group to focus more on her fiber art. We will miss her, and I wish her all sorts of wonderful luck, and loads of fun and excitement in her journey!

Eileen - The Artful Crafter
Here are directions for creating a hat-shaped card. Eileen made a Red Hat card but the directions can easily be adapted to make a cowboy hat, a Mexican sombrero or a frilly lady's hat for an afternoon tea or luncheon.

I like your version better too. The "costume" really helps.

Winnifred is a doll (you know what I mean!). I may have to give Following a try again...
